Abstracts are invited on the topic Montaigne, Affect, Emotion for a special issue of Montaigne Studies. The issue aims to consider how affect and emotion are constructed or expressed in Montaigne’s work. How are cultural or ancient discourses of emotion expressed or transformed? What are emotions or passions for the essayist? The guest editor, Todd Reeser, seeks contributors from disciplines such as literary studies, philosophy, history, theory, and others. Submit abstracts (or expressions of interest) by 1 May 2016 to Todd Reeser (firstname.lastname@example.org). Completed papers are due 15 September 2017 and will be published in winter 2018. Articles may be in French or English and should be 6,500–7,000 words in length, including footnotes.
